RSS for the Forums?

Postby adamwolf » Sat Jan 16, 2010 5:39 pm

Would anyone with admin rights be able to setup some sort of way to get a continuous stream of the forums? RSS/Atom would be ideal.

I looked into it, and it is doable, but it seems to be something Brandon has to do since he's the one with server access.

About that...

The Atom support in 3.0.6 looks pretty week. More investigating RSS Mods in my "sandbox"

Has there been any more movement on this? I would love an RSS feed to keep tabs on the forum...
If it ain't broke, your version is outdated.

I guess the board has been updated past the point where this feature is included. I've turned on the feeds capability and updated all of the board styles. Your browser should automatically detect the feeds (tested in Chrome, Firefox, and IE).

Enjoy!

If your browser doesn't, you can manually navigate to the feed by going to...

http://www.tcmaker.org/forum/feed.php - All posts feed

To view the feed for a particular forum make the following change in the url.

For General Discussion
Change this: http://www.tcmaker.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=2
To this: http://www.tcmaker.org/forum/feed.php?f=2

You can also access feeds for specific topics, e.g. Hack Factory Facility Updates and Questions
Change this: http://www.tcmaker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=764
To this: http://www.tcmaker.org/forum/feed.php?f=2&t=764

Links and/or metadata will need to be added to the templates yet.
