Several of us makers who hang out on Twitter have tossed around the idea of having a
potluck meal social event.

Who would be interested?
When? Jul? Aug? Later? When Hell freezes over?

My thought was to have it on a weekend, rather than on a wed night. That way we
would have more time to set up, socialize, eat, socialize, drink, socialize, etc...

Next question: What venue?
Park? Someone's house? Rent the Metrodome?
I know folks like their barley-pop. Do Minneapolis city parks allow that on their turf?

Thoughts? Suggestions?

i always remember nov 5....

iirc city parks do allow it with a permit, and you need a permit to reserve a pavillion. we *could* do it as one of the off wednesdays, although a sat afternoon would probably get mroe bodies out, and possibly guests/friends/etc.

august is always a zoo, what about the last weekend or 2nd weekend in july?

I'll put in a vote for Minnehaha Falls Park. We may not be able to reserve the covered pavilion, but there's PLENTY of picnic space, esp. further east of the main building.
