I am working on a steampunk coat and vest, Started on the vest (theorically easier one) but am having trouble with the welt pockets. Anyone out there in forum land have any experience with sewing these olde time pockets? I have the instructions but cant get my head around the order.

Ive looked at that tutorial as I was doing the first attempt. but the instructions for the pockets on the sheet have a single thick welt instead of 2 skinny ones. and thats what I couldnt get my noodle around. Simplicity is calling it a welt pocket but its not like the ones I find online

Well, just finished my steampunk vest (sans pockets). I am making another one with different material. Going to give the welt pocket another go on that one.
