Idris, wow, you and I are in the same place. I'm redoing my basement and upgrading my PC as well. Actually I'm tearing out old wainscoting in my basement.

[Edit: Oh, Asus and Abit have good motherboards too.]

Newegg doesn't seem to be turning up too many mobos w/ dual 16x PCIs. Do they even have any decent ones out yet?

If it were me, I might give this Asus board (barebone/open-box deal) a shot. I don't think it would work with the CPU you've chosen, though...

Idris, try BZBoyz. Start at this listing and add what you need to the cart. Perhaps you can find something in your budget. They also sell this CPU for $5 less in OEM form.

Naw, this is just a wish list. Completely a hypothetical exercise spurred on by the fact that there are some great ~$100 g-cards out there now, and I thought that the Phenom II chip looks shiny.

Also, I cannot currently run Empire:Total War on my current rig, which makes me a sad panda.
