For those of you who missed it, we had the boards up and playing Tetris during Minne-Faire. Things were still a bit jury rigged then, but the core vision was realized.

And today today I got to place my order for a Raspberry Pi. So, in theory, in just 6 short weeks I'll have what I crave to finalize the design.

Jude has a plan to hang the boards behind the class room, so in theory we'll have a permanent installation fairly soon.

At some point, I intend to make an 'SDK' for the lights to encourage others to write applications for it. (I already have a C sdk, but imagine folks might prefer Javascript or some other way of running 'em).

Okay, the Raspberry Pi came in...and sat.

But I finally got off my duff and installed it into a control box, and largely un jury rigged things. Now they're just rigged, I figure :-/.

So, I think we're ready to go to production.

I took back my string of 50 a couple weeks back -- I've possibly got a project coming up where a string of addressable LEDs will come in very handy. If that project doesn't come to pass I'll bring them back in again. And I keep my eyes open for good deals on the lights, if I find some more I'll try to grab them.
