I just got a batch of boards back from the board house and my PIC
programmer (USBProg from embed) doesn't want to recognize the PIC16f88 on
them. The board house says that they can program them fine with the
PICKIT3. My programmer works fine with the same chip on other earlier
boards I have made so I don't know what the problem could be other than
that there is something about these boards that my programmer doesn't like
and the PICKIT3 tolerates. So does anyone have a PIC programmer of any
flavor that I could borrow?

I've got the original pickit and a bus pirate that may help. Also, there's an old pic programmer somewhere in the classroom

Thanks. As it turns out I figured out what was making my programmer fail and I found a workaround. It isn't perfectly clear to me why the programmer that the board house is using does not fail but now that I know how to fix the problem I don't really care. But if it turns out that I need a PICKit in a pinch I will ping you. Thanks again.
