Yea, I didn't mean spraying foam directly on the wall. So the rubber solution is good (probably very good, to even provide a little bumper function), or we could take half-tubes with flat backing and position them up against the wall, with some means of mechanical attachment. Metis, this idea feels to me like a theatrical backdrop, in fact, so I'm sure with your background you have a wealth of knowledge to make it happen.
