So after messing around some more I've found out how to log data and I got a nifty graph from 222 data points in excel

Memsic2125 2 axis accelerometer and an arduino

but by the looks of this graph I need to get myself a 3 axis soon!

Got it to output angles like I wanted
here's 2 full revolutions

it goes from 0-180 degrees then from -180 back to 0 degrees
