Help Wanted: Web

OK, apparently this was created as a standalone web page at tcmaker.org/faire. Probably a copy of an existing blog page into that location, then modified. I don't know if that will work too well, as hyperlinks may be broken. We also have a location to put pagers at tcmaker.org/web/. But tcmaker.org/faire seems a logical URL. The "faire" page, as a standalone outside of tcmaker/blog/... directory, is not shown in WordPress as either a published or private page. What can be done in this case is to adjust access properties by an FTP program so that public read access is turned off. I'm on break at work, don't have much time to investigate more, but these are my thoughts.

yes, this is what Jude asked for, it's just like /hmmm . separate database, separate wp install.

3 other options: set existing tcm wp site for multi-site, create a new blog with the existing installation, or do a new site. I would suggest wp either way, even though I dislike wp... Also, I would suggest making a forwarder from 'fair' to 'faire' so if there is confusion, we handle it gracefully. Any desire for a domain name? I'd like to take ownership of this, but I still have an outstanding Web project with tcm and I think taking ownership of this project would be irresponsible at this time.

Brandon told me the fair>faire forwarder has been set up. I don't understand the need for a whole separate WordPress installation for a faire page. Why not just a blog entry/page like the calendar or membership pages? Seems like a bit of overkill. But perhaps I'm a little myopic here.

We probably don't need a whole separate installation.

But it will greatly facilitate future fairs.

Yah. Jude, do want that page public right now, or do you want to make it private until we've developed it a bit more? I'd say keep it private for a little while yet, but it's your call.
