There was a story on KSTP News last night about Free Bikes 4 Kids, a local charity which repairs and cleans donated bikes to distribute to children who might not otherwise be able to afford one. This year, it seems they've had so many bikes donated that they don't have enough volunteers to process them.
So, I was thinking this could be a great opportunity for us as an organization to get involved and do something for the community. This could even potentially be a publicity opportunity. If we have at least a few people willing to volunteer, I will write a note to KSTP and tell them Twin Cities Maker heard their call for help for FB4K, and we answered.
This just seems like something we ought to be able to do, as I know we already have a ton of mechanically inclined people, and quite a few who are already proficient in bike repair.
