CNC Router and Mill Conversion threads, external links

Postby otto_pjm » Sun Nov 11, 2012 11:47 am

I don't post here much anymore, I actually don't post much of anywhere very often, but I have intermittent posts on my CNC Router build and some things I've cut, as well as a thread I'll be trying to keep up to date on my mini-mill CNC conversion on cnczone so here's the links to those threads if your interested. Anyone can read the threads on cnczone, you need to register to comment though. For those who don't know these machines both live at the Hack Factory currently, and I'm there poking at them most Wednesday Nights and usually once or twice on the week-ends as well.

CNC Router thread.

G0704 Milling Machine conversion thread.

Pete,

I love your CNC build, I'll be reading through the Mill build soon.

I made JGRO a few years ago but was frustrated with the flex and the weight and lost my desire to learn G-code, so I dismantled it and sold it. It ran and was fairly decent except where the pipe would bow in the middle of both the X and Y axis. I really regret doing that because now I have to start over. And I had 6 big steppers (240 in/oz) I found at axman for $5 each. Now, I want to build a CNC plasma cutter and wish I had all those parts back.

I'd like to take a closer look at your CNC at the HF, I missed it when I was down there the other day. I'm particularly interested in your mill, since I'd like to make some parts for my car. If you'll be there wednesday, I'll make it a point to track you down and say hi.

Instructables is my crack.

You can't have Success without the suck.

Too many irons, not enough fire.
